Nawazuddin Siddiqui has finally reacted to his estranged wife Aaliya Siddiqui's (who has now changed her name to Anjali Kishore Pandey) allegations. The actor who had maintained stoic silence over the issue despite a lot of allegations being thrown at him has taken to the legal route to respond to Aaliya and sent her a legal notice which includes highlights topics like engaging in fraud, willful and planned defamation as well as slander of character.
As per a report in Times of India, contrary to Aaliya's statements to the media, 'that she has not received any response from the actor', the notice states that Nawaz had already replied to the "divorce notice sent to him", the actor had legally replied to Aaliya’s notice for ‘dissolution of marriage’ on May 19, within the stipulated time of 15 days.
Reportedly, in her recent interview with Spotboye, Aaliya had made fresh allegations against Nawaz stating that the actor had stopped the monthly allowance and that she was unable to pay school fees for their kids. She further revealed that she had to sell her car fifteen days back to pay her lawyers fees adding that Nawaz is giving her financial problems so that she can bow down and stop the legal fight. However, she added that she will continue to fight and does not want to return back to the marriage.
“I had to sell my car 15 days back as I had to pay my lawyer his fees and maintenance of the house. That car was also on loan so I hardly got anything.”
Now, replying to statements of non-payment of maintenance and fees for the kids, Nawazuddin’s notice stated that he has been providing for their children’s expenses, their education and has evidence for the same.
“EMI is still being paid by my client. Other children related expenses too. Divorce notice was replied to but again, she has stated the contrary in order to defame through this well thought slander campaign,” stated Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s lawyer Adnan Shaikh.
In the notice Nawazuddin further added that Aaliya should refrain from making any defamatory comments against him and issue a written clarification and retract her statements.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui's team will take the next legal step based on the written clarification from Aaliya's end.
