Naagin 5 actor Anurag Vyas has a surprise ‘return gift’ for fans on his birthday

For actor Anurag Vyas, this birthday is a rather special one. Instead of getting ‘surprised’ on his special day — as is the norm — he wants to give a surprise to his fans and loved ones. The Naagin 5 actor reveals, “This birthday, I am going to surprise my fans and loved ones with the new project that I have been working on. It will be a return gift for all their love, appreciation and support.”

While the ‘return gift’ is ready, he has not planned any gift for himself. “I am not giving myself anything, because I am already blessed with everything. There’s no bigger gift than a loving family and friends, and a healthy body,” he shares.  

Talking about birthdays, how can we not ask him about b’day resolutions? “My resolution this year is to build healthy and positive habits. I also want to work harder and be more active and aware of everything that’s happening around me. But, most importantly, I want to be happy and peaceful because nothing is more valuable than happiness,” he replies. 

Looking back, Anurag says that some of his best memories are associated with his birthdays. He recalls, “Birthdays are like festivals for children, it was the same for me. Today, the memories of the birthdays I celebrated with my father and family mean everything to me.”

He adds, “My dad taught me how to celebrate each day like a child. He would tell me, ‘Live your life to the fullest and God will shower his blessings on you in different ways. So, for me, birthday is an occasion to celebrate each moment with gratitude and be thankful to God for all his blessings. In a way, every day is a birthday, as every moment is a gift of God.” 

Apart from his dad, Anurag also has a lot of special childhood memories with his grandfather. “Every moment spent with my nanaji is special to me. He was a simple, down-to-earth person. Today, when people say that they appreciate my simplicity, I want to tell them that I have inherited it from him. I still remember those days when he would take me along and roam the whole city on his bicycle. Later, he would buy me gulkand and chocolates. He taught me many priceless life lessons. I was closest to him, and nobody can take his place,” he says. 

So, how does he feel about growing a year older? “Well, age is just a number. Age doesn’t matter to me, what matters is how fully we have lived our life. What makes you feel fully alive and connected to life? I feel fully alive when I am with my family or amidst nature. Each person has to search for and find his/her true happiness,” he answers. 

Birthdays are also an occasion for introspection — when you look back and also mull over your purpose in life.  Anurag says that he wants to use his identity as an actor for the greater good. “Being artistes, we have more power and opportunities to bring about a change in society. Hailing from a middle-class family, I know the difficulties that the common man faces every day. Through my work, I want to provide employment to as many people as I can. My purpose is to spread kindness and happiness because, in the end, we all need nothing, but more happiness and love,” he signs off.
