Iqra mother's day

Mother's Day is observed to cherish the sacrifices made by mothers and also celebrate the unconditional love they shower on their children. On the occasion of Mother's Day, actress Iqra Shaikh, who is currently seen in Rang Jaun Tere Rang Mein, talks about her extreme close bond with her mother. She calls her mother a 'superwoman' who performs the responsibilities of a mother and father too.

Talking about her bond with her mother, the actress says,

"Over the past few years my mom and I have grown extremely close. After my parents got divorced, me and my siblings lived with my mother. I have seen my mother going through the toughest phase of her life and the sacrifices she made to give her children the best life she could. My mom is more like an elder sister in my life, she knows every detail of my life, we go shopping together and share every secret with each other. I have learnt almost everything from my mother, but the one lesson that has really helped me in my life is that you never give up, no matter what the situation is."

Recalling what she does every Mother's day, Iqra says,

"Every Mother’s Day I usually get my mom some of her favourite gifts and take her out for a yummy lunch, but this time I am shooting in Kerela away from my family. So I'll be catching her up via video call and order her favourite food. However, I can’t wait to spend some quality time with my mother once I am done with shooting."

Speaking further about her mother, the actress says,

"Every moment spent with her is the most special but there are some memories I can recall. The most amazing one was making biryani with her and having it at 6 am in the morning because we had spent the whole night chit chatting and watching movies. My mother never makes me feel the absence of my father. She performs every responsibility of being a father and a mother. So, for me, my mother is a super woman. This Mother’s Day I would like to thank my mom for all that she has done. I wish every mother a very happy mother's day."

On the work front, Iqra Shaikh is currently seen in Rang Jaun Tere Rang Mein and is all set to be seen in Harphoul Mohini. She made her television debut at the age of 10.
