Munawar Faruqui criticizes prime news media for fake reporting: 'India me agar koi buri cheez hui hai toh'

On social media, comedian and reality TV star Munawar Faruqui expressed his disappointment over how some media outlets have handled the ongoing crisis.

Munawar Faruqui, known for his bold views, posted a blunt critique aimed at mainstream media. He wrote, “India me agar koi buri cheez hui hai toh woh hai humare News channels (Disgusting cartoon channels)... Shame all these prime news channels... Misinformation woh bhi aisee nazuk waqt mai.” His words reflect a growing sentiment online where users are questioning the accuracy and ethics of television news reporting in the middle of such a high-tension situation.

The concern comes in the wake of unverified and sensational headlines flooding both television and digital platforms. From claims of captured Pakistani fighter pilots to Indian forces allegedly breaching Karachi port, several reports were later flagged as false. Viewers have called out certain anchors for what they termed as "clownery" during a time when accurate information is critical.

Faruqui’s post gained attention not just for its criticism but also for the timing. Just a day earlier, he had applauded the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive action. Referring to the operation, he had written on X, “Be-hadd zaruri jawab aur Insaaf, woh auraton ke liye jinka sindoor mitaya gaya tha!!” and “Most needed answer to Enemies of humanity 🫡 Jai Hind.”

While citizens continue to follow updates anxiously, many believe that credibility in news reporting is more important than speed. The circulation of fake news can create unnecessary panic, especially when regions like Kashmir and Punjab are already under immense pressure.
