Mouni Roy Opens Up On Ekta Kapoor’s Ambitious Project Mehrunissa

Content Czarina Ekta Kapoor announced her ambitious project Mehrunissa a while back with Mouni Roy. After Naagin, there were a lot of reports of the two joining their hands once again for the period drama, however, the pace never took on the project and there is no news about it since a long time. For the uninitiated, Mehrunissa was supposed to be a historical drama based on the life of the twentieth and last wife of Mughal emperor Jahangir, Nur Jahan who was born as Mehrunissa. 

Mouni Roy was being considered to play the titular role and pictures of her reading the script and prepping for her role with Ekta Kapoor also surfaced on social media. However, later, things could not materialize. After a while, there were reports of Krystle D’souza being considered for the role, however that news went unconfirmed too.

Well, in a recent interaction with Bollywoodlife, Mouni cleared the air about the project and said, “I don’t think it’s happening. I don’t have any news about it.”

Mouni, who was last seen Rajkumarr Rao starrer Made In China, will next be seen in Ayan Mukherjee’s magnum opus Brahmastra in a negative role.
