Mouli Ganguly
, the versatile actress who was last playing Divya Balraj in Resham Dankh has taken a break from acting. But it doesn’t mean she has given up acting. In fact the Bengali belle has turned to theatre and is doing a play entitled Kahaani Mein Twist Hai co-starring Kiran Karmarkar.

So why the impromptu switch from television to theatre? Mouli replies, “Well I know this is the first time I am doing a play in my career but it was a good opportunity and something different from the same rigmarole of hindi fiction and as of now I haven’t got any good offers in television either so I decided to take up the offer.” So is she quitting the small screen for good? “Not at all”, says she, “If I get something interesting and different in television, I will definitely take it up. I am just waiting for the right role to come my way.”

So what is Kahaani Mein Twist Hai all about? “It is a comedy play on the relationship between a husband and wife and their differences shown in a humorous way”, says Mouli.

Speaking about the roles she has played in her career Mouli says, “I really can’t make a choice between the roles I play. For me it’s all about the acting. But if I do have to make a choice I would prefer playing a modern role as I come from the same background and find it more comfortable. But I don’t have a problem playing any other character either.”

Getting a taste of both the worlds how different is theatre from television? “A major difference exists between the two". Mouli claims, “The most important thing in theatre is that there are no re-takes here. Everything has to be done perfectly the first time itself. And each actor has to have the presence of mind to realize when to say his/her lines and has to be audible.”

Any other projects in the pipeline? “Yes” She replies, “I am doing a film “It's A Man's World” with Saurab Sengupta. I am playing the role of Arunandhati Sarkar who is a strong leader in a man’s world", says Mouli as she takes leave.
