Mohit Kumar talks about comparisons with Namik Paul in Ek Duje Ke Vaaste 2

Ek Duje Ke Vaaste 2 is coming back with some twists in the back. Actor Mohit Kumar will make his debut in TV as a remodeled character of 'shranav'. The character was popularized by Namik Paul in Season 1. While Mohit feels that the role is a bit challenging, he points out that even though the names have been retained, the characters and storylines will be different. Season one showcased Nikita Dutta and Namik Paul as Suman and Shravan respectively.

Twitter has on one hand brought a smoke screen on Mohit and his co star Kanikka Kapur, who replaces Nikita on the show. Netizens haven't been too kind either. It began with people starting replying by trolling them with 'we want Namik and Nikita back'. "I was happy with the trolls," Mohit says to TOI.

But since they were arguing the comparison that was bound to come with playing a remodeled character irrespective of how different they both are especially when in season two, the character is a young school boy. 

Irrespective of how his social media reaction was, Mohit says, he used to check it daily and try to build up on himself as a better actor, taking the good out of it, and understanding the limitations and shortcoming and working on them.

Mohit, while describing his early life, he mentioned that that after stepping of his comfort zones, he got a good job in Mumbai, where he shifted, parallely working on his modelling career. The idea of working in a TV show never occurred to him, but he says he found it intriguing and as a potential career prospect.

Within a month he started giving auditions. While being disinterested in typical saas bahu dramas, he wanted a role in a more open role. He luckily landed a more suitable role in the following month. 'Ek Duke..' he mentions is the third show ever to be made about army. Shah Rukh Khan's 'Fauji' and the other was 'Left Right Left' with Rajeev Khandelwal. This was a unique opportunity for him, and he is most grateful that he got it.
