#MidYearReview: 7 NEGATIVE characters that gave the viewers a NIGHTMARE
At times, it's really good to be BAD...

I, at the risk of sounding totally insane and rather deranged would unapologetically admit, that I love negative characters and the grit that comes with it. Even though, on Indian TV, there is barely a chance to have nuances negative roles, Jennifer Winget's Maya in Beyhadh did pleasantly surprise me last year.
This year, we are back to quintessential Indian TV villains, which did surprise many viewers and some of them were impactful in their own sense. Here are the 7 NEGATIVE characters that gave the viewers a nightmare.
Nikitin Dheer as Veer in Ishqbaaaz
Technically, Veer doesn't quality for this year's entry as he entered in literally the last few days of 2017, but we would still like to include him as his character wasn't mentioned otherwise. The macho and brooding personality of Nikitin alone is enough to send shivers down your spine, but adding the Ishqbaaaz touch it made things better. Nikitin's portrayal of Veer was so 'badly good' (I know that's not a word), that initially supposed to be a small cameo, he went on to be a part of the show for a good amount of time.
Sahil Mehta as Sameer in Shakti... Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii
Sahil Mehta went on from being the leading man in Suhani Si Ek Ladki to being the bad man Sameer in Shakti... Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii, and it was a pleasant change to see. His character initially entered the show as a good and helping person, but the moment Saumya (Rubina Dilaik) seemed to be slipping away form his hands to Harman (Vivian Dsena), he became the psychotic lover no one anticipated. It truly was a pleasant change to see Sahil in a negative avatar, and that too pretty good.
Shrey Pareek as Kabir in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai
Even though for a short span of time, Shrey Pareek's character of Kabir in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai was an impactful one. The show is known to have almost NO negative characters, where this one was an exception. As the maniacal, psychotic and obsessive lover, Shrey as Kabir was eerily good. Also, the idea of highlighting a criminal offence of trolling to an extent where it turns into abuse was novel of the makers to think of.
Shilpa Saklani Agnihotri as Roma in Kaleerein
Belonging to the clan of quintessential vamps, Roma is the poster girl of the negative ladies all the viewers know of. Even though, her character is full of stereotypes and stupid norms, it is actress Shilpa Saklani's portrayal of the character that makes it a watchable affair. And of course, for all the drama friendly viewers out there, she is a certain treat.
Shipsy Rana as Ruksar in Ishq Subhan Allah
Another character that belongs to the quintessential TV vamps, Ruksar's (Shipsy Rana) one sole motto in life has been to create absolute wrath for Kabir (Adnan Khan) and Zara (Eisha Singh), as and when she gets a chance. At times, it is really difficult to understand why she does that, but then it's criminal to ask a daily soap vamp, why she does what she does!
Apurva Agnihotri as Rajveer in Bepannaah
It seems Apurva and Shilpa (husband-wife) decided back at home, that both of them will be choosing negative characters for their future projects. Kidding! Apruva's entry in Bepannaah as Rajveer meant the beginning of problems for Aditya (Harshad Chopda) and Zoya (Jennifer Winget) instantly. Actually a cop, Rajveer has been tormenting the couple time and again, and shows no mercy at all. However, the best part about Rajveer is that he is not unnecessarilyloud or intimidating, but still is a nightmare with his ease of presence.
Abhinav Shukla as Rajdeep in Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka
The newest villain in town, Rajdeep is as cruel as a human being can be. A wife-beater, selfish and pathetic person, there literally is not one thing to like about Rajdeep whatsoever. But, it is Abhinav Shukla's amazing portrayal of the character that makes even such a bad human appear as watchable. His personality and baritone voice adds to the viciousness of the character which is amazing.
So, these were the villains we thought were totally amazing and certainly sent chills down the spine of viewers! What do you think of the same? Do you agree with the choices?
