Talented and versatile actors Shweta Tiwari and Varun Badola are all set to star together in upcoming Sony TV show, Mere Dad Ki Dulhan. The show will mark Shweta’s comeback on screen after three long years and her on-screen pairing with Varun Badola is an interesting choice by the makers. However, apart from the stalwarts, actress Anjali Tatrari, will be seen as a parallel lead in the show. Anjali has been roped in to play Varun Badola’s daughter in the show based on a father and daughter’s sweet and sour relationship.
In a candid conversation with India Forums, Anjali revealed details of her character and experience of working with actors like Shweta Tiwari and Varun Badola.
Speaking about how she landed the role she said, “I was called for an audition from the production house and they liked me during the audition and hence decided to offer me the part.”
When asked about her character and storyline in the show, she shared, “The story of the show is based on a beautiful relationship between a father and a daughter. My character Nia loses her mother at a very early age and hence her father looks after her. Both of them are interdependent on each other and the entire story revolves around these two. After a while, Nia realizes that her father is single, lonely and also has a life of his own to live independently and the way he wants, and she then decides to find a companion for him.”
Mere Dad Ki Duhan will mark Anjali’s debut on television and she will be working with some brilliant actors like Shweta and Varun in her first show. Speaking about the experience of working with them, she says, “It’s a wonderful experience working with such senior actors and I’m learning a lot. At first, I was a little nervous and didn’t know how I’ll manage around them, but they made me feel very comfortable on the sets and it’s kind of like a workshop for me as I’m getting to learn a lot.”
Mere Dad Ki Dulhan will be replacing Kaun Banega Crorepati on Sony TV.
