Meezaan and Shilpa recently launched the song 'Chura Ke Dil Mera' through a fun Twitter banter, where Meezaan accused Shilpa of stealing something, with Shilpa replying back with a series of replies and at the end revealing its actually Meezan’s heart this time that Shilpa has stolen! The fun banter ended with the reveal of the teaser.
It is interesting to note, Shilpa Shetty is the only actress to have been a part of the remake of her own chartbuster song!
The song instantly went on to grab the audience’s attention and fans are excited to watch the new jodi in the film now.
Meezan has been receiving positive reviews for his on-screen persona and making headlines for acing the hook step of the blockbuster hit song 'Chura Ke Dil Mera', while matching steps with none other than Shilpa Shetty in the recreated version.
However, he is also being compared to Akshay Kumar. When asked if he was apprehensive about the comparisons on the release of the recreated version of 'Chura Ke Dil Mera' Meezaan said, "No apprehensions but I knew it was going to happen. At the same time, it didn't matter to me because we weren't copying the song, we tried to recreate it in our own way, with our own tadka and today's Gen Z kind of texture to it. I think we've done pretty well. We maintained the soul and essence of the original song but at the same time did it on today's way."
Explaining what he meant, Meezan narrated an incident and said, "I remember I saw the song at the screening we had in Juhu and I was sitting with my family and Shilpa ji's family was also there and her son Viaan was also present. I could hear Viaan tell 'mom, I love this song way better than the original and you are looking way better than the original'. And I thought, exactly! If this kid thinks that, then it's true because today's generation is my audience, the viewers who probably haven't even seen the original."
He also added, "The song's turned out wonderful. It was a lot of hard work and pressure, and a lot of competition between Shilpa ji and me because we are both trying to outdo each other. It was fun to be doing not only the remake of the song but doing it with the original leading lay on whom it was picturised."
Starring Meezaan, Shilpa Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Pranitha Subhash, the sequel of the 2003 blockbuster Hungama will premiere on Disney+Hotstar on 23rd July.
