Manjari Fadnis to Star in United Nation’s Film Based on Environmental Crisis

Climate change is one of the major issues which the world is facing right now. While countries like the UK, Scotland, Canada and France have already declared climate emergencies, many around the world are still not aware of the environmental crisis. United Nations which has been thriving to create awareness about the consequences of climate change with its various campaigns is bringing a film titled Interdependence based on the environmental crisis.

Interdependence is a film, which will be a compilation of 11 short films based on Environmental crisis from 11 different countries by 11 different Directors. One of the short films from the movie is based in India is directed by Nila Madhab Panda and titled as Megha’s Divorce. The short film will feature actress Manjari Fadnis, who gave an amazing performance in Zee5’s Barot House recently. Apart from her, renowned actors from the industry including Divya Dutta, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Chandan Anand are also part of the film.

Talking to India Forums, Manjari shared some details about the movie and said “This is actually a project in association with United Nations, they have brought together 11 different filmmakers from 11 different countries to make 5-8 minutes short films on the climate crisis. From India, there is Nila Madhab Panda, otherwise, there are directors from Afghanistan, New Zealand and so many other countries. The film is premiering at Rome and Geneva and the world premiere will on 22nd of October.”

Speaking about her role, she revealed, “ Our short film is called Megha’s divorce and I’m playing Megha in it. Our story is related to the dangerous levels of toxins in the air in Delhi.”

Manjari is also supporting the ‘Save Aarey Campaign’, which is against the removal of forests from Mumbai’s Aarey area. The actress is pretty vocal about the issue on her social media and is often seen sharing her opinions on the matter.
