Gradually, Bollywood has fallen prey to the trend of remixing old songs. Despite the massive backlash from the audience, even the Bollywood celebrities are standing up against the idea. While some songs have already seen the disappointment with pre-existing remixed songs, some compositions shouldn't be touched.

Similarly, Malaika Arora’s career saw success after she was seen dancing with Shah Rukh Khan atop a train compartment in 1988. Reminiscing about her initial days in Bollywood, Malaika feels that it is one of the songs that shouldn’t be touched.

During a recent interaction with IANS, Malaika was asked about the same. Recalling her rehearsals for the song she said, "When you play that song, you can't help but get up and dance. It is an iconic song. When I shot the song, Geeta (Kapur) was assisting Farah (Khan) at that time. I used to study under Terence (Lewis), Geeta assisted me on that dance. It was nice. We felt that 'let's just go for it'."

Talking about the remix trend in Bollywood, Malaika had a rather strong opinion as she highlighted why it should be kept original.

In today's day and age, there is a constant trend of remixes. There are a few songs that I think you should never touch. They are iconic. There must be five or 10 songs over the years that you can pull out. 'Chaiyya Chaiyya' is one of them. Don't tamper with it, just let the original be and that's how it should be.
