We live in the 21st century but taboos around single parent, divorced women are still ingrained in the roots of the society. Malaika Arora, a fashion star in the Bollywood business and actor, has something to say about this. For those who are unaware, Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora were married in 1998 before divorcing in 2017. The ex-couple jointly raises their son Arhaan.

Malaika Arora discussed her thoughts on trolls and whether the hate they spread affects her life in an exclusive interview with ETimes today. "Certainly not," Malaika responded. I consider myself to be a modern lady who has had her fair share of ups and downs in life, as well as enough of them. That's pretty badass of me. I don't consider myself to be someone who just sits there and takes blow after blow. I'm not like that. If someone punches me, I'll probably punch right back, probably so forcefully that they might not be able to recover.

She further added, “I will call a spade a spade. And I think that's what it is. And I think today's women should be able to stand up and say the things that you feel strongly about and show that it's fine. It's fine to be, to find, to live the life that I am. I mean in today's day and age, divorced women, single parents, etc, are actually looked down upon and it's not really very... you know, when I say looked down upon there's always a lot of criticism. There's someone or the other having some sort of comment and I think we need to change that. And then I want to change if I can, in my own little bit".

Malaika Arora will soon make her OTT debut with the web series Moving In With Malaika.
