Mahesh Bhatt expresses his happiness of becoming a 'grandfather' post Alia's pregnancy announcement

Bollywood's most loved couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are expecting their first child. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress shared this good news on her Instagram today. The actress sent a heartfelt message announcing her pregnancy with a wholesome picture of herself and Ranbir taken during the scan.

The post was captioned as, “Our baby ….. coming soon” along with a heart emoticon. For the Bhatts and Kapoors, it is undoubtedly a momentous occasion. Their admirers were overjoyed by the good news, and millions of people swarmed the comments area to wish the newlyweds. 

And now, Alia's father Mahesh Bhatt has expressed his joy and revealed that he is eager to sit in the chair of a grandfather right now.

The renowned director expressed his happiness for Alia and Ranbir, who are going to begin their new family, in a conversation with ETimes. Further asserting that being a grandfather will be his "grand premiere," he described it as the most significant role of his life.

According to a report by Etimes Mahesh Bhatt said, 

“Ah, my baby is going to have a baby! I am so happy for Ranbir and Alia. May our ‘tribe’ increase. And now I have to prepare for the most important role of my life: The role of a Grandfather. This is going to be a grand debut."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia and Ranbir will be seen sharing the screen for the first time in Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy drama Brahmastra. It is one of the most-anticipated films of the year and the first part of the trilogy will be released in theatres on September 9 in five Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada
