After the release of their latest album, Map Of The Soul: 7, the Korean Boy Band is venturing into the realm of Korean education.

On March 23, i.e. today, Bighit officially announced that BTS would be releasing a new series of short-form videos intended to help fans learn the Korean language.

BTS and their fans have overcome the language barriers with their amazing music but it was not enough when it came to unsubtitled episodes and other video clips. It seems as if Bighit finally heard the plea of all the international fans who watch the clips clueless while laughing when BTS laughs.

After introducing subtitles in English and many other languages in the Bangtan Bombs, BTS has decided to teach us their native tongue.

Titled “Learn Korean With BTS,” the videos will use pre-existing footage from BTS’s variety show “Run BTS!” and their online content to teach fans Korean words and expressions frequently used by the BTS members. Each video is said to be approximately 3 minutes long and will provide a brief lesson about Korean phrases and grammar.

The new videos will be released for free through Big Hit’s fan community app Weverse starting on March 24 at 2 p.m. KST, when the first three episodes will be made available. Big Hit Entertainment currently plans to release a total of 30 episodes.

According to the agency, “Learn Korean With BTS” was created with the help of researchers from the Korea Language Contents Institute (KOLCI) and professors from the Hanguk University of Foreign Studies.

Big Hit Entertainment stated, “With the recent popularity of K-pop and other Korean cultural content, the demand for Korean-language education is increasing greatly. We ended up planning Korean-language educational content in the hopes of making K-pop content more accessible.”

The agency added, “We hope that through learning Korean, global fans will be able to relate more deeply to our artists’ music and better enjoy a wide range of content.”

According to a press release, the initiative is aimed to “make it easy and fun for global fans who have difficulty enjoying BTS' music and contents due to the language barrier.” Big Hit also said that they plan to bring more education-based content and expand this venture to other artists under the Big Hit label family that includes fellow boy band Tomorrow X Together, girl group GFriend, Seventeen and more acts on their way soon.

While the massive success of BTS has certainly proven that any language barrier is a minor concern when it comes to connecting with fans around the world, this venture of the boy band will help the fans connect with the artists better.
