The rise of Covid-19 cases has spread concerns amongst the masses and it has even led the government to order a slew of new restrictions across the state. While many Bollywood celebrities have also been administered with the first and second jab of the novel coronavirus vaccine, India’s resident Nightingale Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar will now take the Covid-19 vaccination soon.

A recent report suggests that all the other members of the distinguished Mangeshkar family have already taken the vaccine and the veteran singer will take the first jab later sometime this week. “Bass main baqi reh gayi hoon (I am the only one who remained),” confirmed Lataji, as reported by SpotboyE.

The Indian playback singer has been so far excluded from taking the jab because of her frail health.

For the unversed, she was hospitalized for a severe lung infection in December 2019 and has been advised extra precaution since then.

“But now my personal doctor whom I trust blindly says it is best that I take the vaccination since it is absolutely safe. I advise everyone out there eligible for the vaccination to go for it. I am told it does not ensure complete immunity from the virus. But it minimizes the impact considerably if you are unfortunate enough to get the virus,” says Lataji.

Previously, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s building was also sealed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) as a precautionary measure amid the coronavirus pandemic. The singer resides in the Prabhukunj building at Peddar Road in South Mumbai.
