Lata Mangeshkar Donates Rs 25 Lakhs to Maharashtra CM Relief Fund

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has joined the bandwagon of Bollywood celebrities and personalities coming forward to donate their contribution to the Lata Mangeshkar donates Rs 25 lakh to Maharashtra CM relief fund to combat COVID-19.

On Tuesday, Lata Ji said she will donate a sum of Rs 25 lakhs to the relief fund for India’s battle against Coronavirus. Mangeshkar announced on Twitter that she was donating Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister's Assistance Fund as part of her "duty to help your government during this difficult time".

"I have a humble request to all that we should help the government as much as possible in the fight against the government," the veteran singer wrote.

Earlier on Monday, singer Adnan Sami announced his contribution to support the country in its fight against COVID-19, without disclosing the amount.

Many notable names from the industry have stepped forward to pledge donations to various relief funds, including Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Varun Dhawan, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Kartik Aaryan, Pawan Kalyan, Prabhas, Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu, among others.

According to the Union Home Ministry, the death toll due to COVID-19 in the country had risen to 32 and the number of total positive cases to 1,251 as on Tuesday.
