Kyunki 2's Shagun Sharma reveals going up to Smriti Irani with 'random political questions': 'All know who..'

Shagun Sharma, who essays the role of Pari in Star Plus’ popular show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, recently spoke to India Forums in an exclusive chat about the show’s impressive performance and her experience on set. The actress also opened up about her warm bond with Smriti Irani and how she often turns to the veteran actress with her “political queries.”

You are sharing screen space with Smriti Irani. What have your interactions with her been like? Any memorable moments?

She’s amazingly talented and yet so grounded and funny! Whenever she goes to Delhi, she gets mithai for all of us. And since I have zero knowledge of politics and she, well, we all know who she is. I often go to her with my random political questions. She’s always so sweet with her answers. We’ve definitely formed a real bond.

Smriti recently addressed the Kyunki 2 vs Anupamaa comparison. What’s your take?

I think both shows have their own magic. Comparing them is like comparing chai and coffee, both loved, both iconic, just different flavours!

What are your personal opinions on comparisons between Anupamaa and Kyunki?

I think comparisons are natural. Audiences do it because they’re invested and passionate. But honestly, there’s space for everyone. Every show has its own vibe and its own audience, and that’s what keeps TV exciting!

Shagun also shared that being part of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 has been a special journey for her, especially with a powerhouse like Smriti Irani leading the show.
