Krishna Janmashtami, or simply Janmashtami, is the celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna, a Lord Vishnu — one of three of the holy Hindu trinity. Actress Mansi Srivastava who plays the role of Sonakshi in Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya, spoke to India Forums in brief about how she celebrates the festival and also shared some memories while urging everyone to keep their celebrations low-key.

She went on to say, “I usually don’t visit temples that often but on every Janmashtami, I do plan a visit. In fact, earlier on I used to visit several temples around this time to see the décor and how beautifully Lord Krishna would be decorated. The Matki-Phod custom was not something that was performed in Panchkula where I actually grew up.''

She added, ''However, I witnessed it for the first time when I came to Mumbai and was absolutely fascinated seeing people climb over each other to break the matki. It was much later that I got to know that they have competitions also between different groups. I think Janmashtami is one of the most beautiful festivals of India and while we all miss celebrating it on a large scale, I would urge everyone to keep the celebrations low-key this year as well and stay safe. Happy Janmashtami!''

Meanwhile, Mansi has been receiving a lot of love for her role in the Zee TV show and continues to garner a lot of attention. It is what can be called an extended cameo, and we are sure fans are looking forward to seeing more of her in the show.
