Krystle Dsouza on transition from TV: The struggle was really difficult as people love to label

Television actors who move to films have often had a hard time trying to break their image and get rid of the stereotypes. In a recent interview, Krystle got talking about the same and revealed how she was typecast irrespective. Currently, she is gearing up for Chehre, which also features Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi, and will mark her Bollywood debut. The movie was due for a release in April, however, the pandemic pushed it further.

Krystle said how she had to struggle to get out of the typecast because of the TV background and to get the right film and someone to believe that a TV actor can make it to the movie was something that was difficult. She expressed gratitude to the makers and said, ''Thanks to my director Rumi sir and producer Anand Pandit that they believed that they needed a strong actor and that comes from TV. Television actors are very strong, they are very good at what they do. I mean the value of a TV actor is only known when you give them a monologue and you ask them to enact in 5 minutes and they will do it with full emotions. The struggle was really difficult as people typecast and love to label."

She also further mentioned how she was asked even during her jump to OTT that she should not overact. However, she added further that the truth is that the background music is the problem and TV actors don't ham. Krystle gained popularity from her television show Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai and was recently seen in the music video, Ek Bewafaa.
