Kenya Barris Gets Series Order on Netflix!

Kenya Barris already created a major impact with his show on Netflix and of course, he is best known otherwise for being the creator of Black-ish and its spin-off show, Grown-ish.

Now, Kenya is getting another series on order at Netflix which will be a variety-sketch comedy show. According to reports, The six-episode series, also called Astronomy Club, will feature sketches that use comedy to discuss complex and nuanced real-world topics, ranging from pop culture to social issues to the black experience in America.

Astronomy Club formed in 2013 and soon became the first all-black house team at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Group members Shawtane Bowen, Jonathan Braylock, Ray Cordova, James III, Caroline Martin, Jerah Milligan, Monique Moses, and Keisha Zollar will star in the series.

Barris will exec produce via his Khalabo Ink Society along with Daniel Powell (I Think You Should Leave, Inside Amy Schumer) of Irony Point.
