Kartik Aaryan on Working with Imtiaz Ali: 'The Success or Failure of a Film is Not in Actor's Hand

They say great artistes don’t need great films to stand out in a movie and make them memorable. Well that holds true for very few actors in our tinsel town and proven to be right and the latest name to be added to this list is Kartik Aaryan.

The actor’s last release Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal did an average business at the box-office but did wonders for the actor’s career as he won audience’s hearts.

Kartik Aaryan says in a recent interview that working with Imtiaz Ali was a golden opportunity for him and he wasn’t disheartened by it’s performance at the box-office, as he won audiences and critics’ love for his performance.

He says, “The love and appreciation I have got to my performance through this film, is something I cannot compare to. And it’s all because of Imtiaz Ali sir. I learnt from the making of the movie and the director.

Agar outcome se seekhne lagey toh sab kharaab ho jaayega. And outcome actors ke haath mein nahi hota. (if we start learning things from success of a film, then its surely a mess for an actor. The success or a failure of a film is not in actor’s hand).”

The actor highly praises his filmmaker and rightfully points out the math of the filmmaking and how to be detatched with its outcome. 

Later in the same interview, when Kartik is asked about his upcoming films and offers he says that the offers coming his way have doubled up after the release of Love Aaj Kal, “Love Aaj Kal ke baad zyada offers aaye hain (more offers came my way post LAK).”

Well, its not surprising. The heartthrob was phenomenal with his performance as Raghu and Veer, furthermore the former character of his had a huge character-transformation that made him almost play triple role in a film. This was Kartik’s first out-and-out romantic film and he excelled in it like no one else. 

Kartik Aaryan’s film Love Aaj Kal released on OTT platform few weeks back and the film was trending on the platform in several countries. 

The film was on the hotspot of No 1 in India and netizens flooded the actor’s timeline on Twitter praising his class act. Aaryan has truly proved his star power with the moolah his movies rake in and with LAK, he surely proved his mettle as an actor. A star performer indeed!
