The style sensation and super mom, Kareena Kapoor Khan, is a boss lady, who does not shy away from voicing her opinions and is always ready with her sassy comebacks. This time, she has something to say about Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh and has reacted to the massive criticism the film faced.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh revolved around the life of a short-tempered surgeon, who turns violent, alcoholic and indulges in drugs after his lover gets married to another man. The film ignited a debate over the toxic masculinity showcased in the film, as claimed by the audience. However, despite the brutal criticism, the film became one of the highest grosser releases, best of Shahid’s career and crossed Rs 300 crores on the box office.

Besides the remarks against Shahid’s character, Kiara Advani who played the female lead in the film also fell prey to mixed reviews. She played the character of a demure lover in the film, but it looks like Kareena is not impressed by the same and stated that she doesn’t ‘personally believe in a character like that’.

In an interaction with Filmfare, Kareena revealed she hasn’t seen Shahid starrer Kabir Singh yet. “I haven’t seen the film. But clearly it hasn’t affected anything because the movie has made over Rs 300 crores. So, it’s a double-edged sword. Because there are people who are actually going to watch it and have found something that they love. Otherwise, it is not possible for it to have done so well. But I’m happy that people are talking about it and if you ask me, I don’t personally believe in a character like that because that’s not me as a person,” she said.

Bebo further added that she was happy to see people voice their opinions about the film but added that it was ‘sad’ that they were outnumbered by those who liked the film.

“But, at the end of the day, it’s a film and it has worked. But I’m happy that people are talking about things and they want their voice to be heard. But they clearly are outnumbered by the people who have loved the film. That’s the reality which is sad,” she said.

Meanwhile, it's all bright and full for Kareena on the professional front as well. She will next be seen next appear alongside Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in Good News. She has also committed to star in Angrezi Medium, a sequel to the 2017 film, by Homi Adajania, and will portray Mughal princess Jahanara Begum in Karan Johar's directorial venture, Takht, a historical drama featuring an ensemble cast, including Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, and Anil Kapoor. In addition, Kapoor will team with Aamir Khan for the third time in Lal Singh Chaddha, a remake of the American comedy-drama, Forrest Gump.
