Karan's Housefull of Hate Mails?!

A recent tweet by Karan Johar congratulating the team of Housefull for their release brought in an unexpected amount of backlash for the director, who is known to be rather supportive and congenial to his fellow directors (unless you're scare-god, Ram Gopal Varma!).

From the moment he sent out the congratulatory tweet addressing Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Lara Dutta, his own phones and email have been flooded with indignant and abusive reactions from all over the world.

Karan is no where close to figuring out the cause of such wrath and angst, especially because just moments after he sent the congratulatory tweet to the team, he also had ready parises for Gurinder Chadha's new film It's a Wonderful Life, which in otherwise usual trend did not backfire.

Housefull's producer Sajid Nadiadwala is fully aware of the controversy surrounding Karan's tweet on the internet. The comments on his movie in newspapers and on television have been kind, even though there has been a general agreement on how the movie is not the best of its kind. The internet response unfortunately has been rather ruthless, and as such, he has decided that he will ask the cast and crew of his subsequent films to refrain from using social networking sites while they are working on his films
