Bollywood Filmmaker Karan Johar was honoured with Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour, award, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday.
President Ram Nath Kovind presented the award to Karan Johar for making one of the most successful movies in the last two decades.
KJo took to Instagram on Tuesday morning and dropped his pictures sporting an all-black look for the event. He also posted a picture with his mother Hiroo Johar.
In his caption, the filmmaker revealed how his kids Roohi and Yash reacted to his big win.
“About last evening…. A truly memorable moment in my life….. I knew I would have made my father so proud and was so happy to have my mom there by my side…. My babies asked me “ dada you won a medal? “ and I replied “yes I did, I hope you do too one day “!! Soon after he posted the pictures, Anil Kapoor was quick to comment on it.
He wrote, “Dad must be so proud of you up there in heaven Karan .. lots of love and hugs always ”
He also shared a video of himself while receiving the award.
Along with the video, he wrote,
“Today felt surreal! I am honoured and humbled that the prestigious Padma Shri Award was bestowed on me. I feel extremely fortunate to receive it from the hands of our honourable President Shri Ram Nath Kovind.
