It was just another night for us all but all the tinsel town’s bigwigs were busy with their big bad Bollywood bash. Filmmaker Karan Johar along with Gauri Khan, Dino Moria, Neha Dhupia, Angad Bedi, Malaika Arora and more were in Jaiselmer to celebrate Arvind Dubash’s 50th birthday.
Arvind who is himself a successful industrialist is husband of executive director and chief branding officer at the Godrej Group, Tanya Arvind Dubash.
Bollywood’s favourites, Karan, Neha, Malaika and Amrita, like they usually do shared glimpses from the grand birthday celebration. As the theme called for royal oriental style of dressing they pulled out the most gorgeous garbs they could from best designer collections.

Gauri kept it simple in a black shirt and skirt, while her bestie Karan Johar went all-out in an extravagant Gaurav Gupta designed cape suit. Malaika Arora dressed like a blue-blooded oriental lady as she wore a sparkly bodycon and feather headgear. Giving her company was Amrita Arora in a plush jacket and frilly dress. Neha Dhupia brought some brocade royalty to the party with a purple jamewar jacket, silk pants and a matching fascinator. While her husband, Angad was dressed in a black suit and a decorated turban. Actor Rahul Khanna was also at the party, like Kjo, he too wore a Gaurav Gupta creation.
Hosted by Charles De Beistegui at his Venetian mansion, on 3rd of September, 1951, Le Bal Oriental is still considered to be the most lavish ball of the century. Popular names like Salvador Dali, Christian Dior and Orson Wells were among the star attendees at the ball. Our desi version of the same will surely go down in history, what do you think?
