Karan Johar announces the lead actress of Akshay Kumar's 'Kesari'

Recently, Akshay Kumar announced his most awaited and much ambitious film 'Kesari' and also unveiled his first look. Kumar received immense appreciation for his look which was nothing but highly intriguing.

However, today filmmaker Karan Johar announced the leading lady of Kesari and she is Parineeti Chopra. Yes! Karan Johar tweeted, "The lead actress in #KESARI is ...PARINEETI CHOPRA! @ParineetiChopra".

Kesari is a film based on one of the bravest battles fought in India - 'The Battle of Saragarhi'. Akshay Kumar dons the character of a Sikh soldier in a turban and nothing has been revealed about Parineeti's character.

Kesari is helmed by Anurag Singh and backed up by filmmaker-producer Karan Johar. It is all set to release in the festive season of Holi in 2019.
