Kanika Kapoor Coronavirus Update: 63 out of 162 of her Contacts Test Negative

Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor took the entire nation by storm after she confirmed that she is infected with Coronavirus. She became the first Bollywood celebrity to get infected with Coronavirus and was among the four people who tested positive for it in Uttar Pradesh.

Kanika flew down from London to Lucknow a few days ago and had allegedly escaped the screening at the airport and also hid her travel details. She was a part of a small gathering that included friends and family. She also attended Akbar Ahmad’s party, along with a large number of bureaucrats and politicians.

Former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje and her son Dushyant Singh too attended a dinner party with the ‘Baby Doll’ singer who has been tested positive for COVID-19. While the mother-son duo have been tested negative, a news report states that as many as 162 people came in contact with the singer, and could be in spot.

As per a Times of India report, the 162 names also include 35 people from Kanpur, where she was a part of a social gathering. The health authorities are continuously identifying and testing the people who came in contact with the singer. As of now, about 63 samples have been tested negative.

Dushyant Singh, who was spotted with Kanika at the dinner party, also attended Parliament the next day and was sitting with Surendra Nagar Nishikant and Manoj Tewari in the Central Hall. Reportedly, the singer was staying in the same hotel as the South Africa cricket team, who was staying in the hotel during the ODI series against India. The news is yet to be verified by BCCI.

Meanwhile, Kanika has been receiving a lot of flak for allegedly hiding her travel details and risking people’s lives by attending parties. Besides, three FIRs have also been lodged against the singer for negligence. She has been booked under Sections 188 (disobedience of an order duly promulgated by a public servant), 269 (negligently acting in a way likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), and 270 (malignant act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code.

Besides, a Bollywood Hungama report states that in case any deaths occur due to the Corona Virus around the places she partied in Lucknow, she may be booked for murder.
