Kajol reveals she is Not a Controlling Parent but calls Ajay a Protective Father

Kajol and Ajay Devgn are B Town’s most adorable couple. Having completed 20 years of marital bliss, they have two kids- Nysa and Yug, who make for a complete happy family. On Kareena Kapoor Khan’s radio show What Women Want, Kajol spoke about what kind of parents she and her husband Ajay are and which parent their kids will approach for relationship advice.

Kajol said that while Nysa would come to her to talk about boyfriends, her song Yug would approach daddy cool Ajay. “I think Nysa will come to me, and Yug will go to Ajay. Because he is very much like, ‘Oh, my dad is such a cool guy!’ and they discuss these guy things,” the actress revealed.

However speaking of Nysa, Kajol said that she would go to her and never tell Ajay about her boyfriends. “She is never going to tell her father about her boyfriends or any of that. He is the kind of guy who will be standing with a shotgun, ‘Where is he? Where is he?’

Talking about whether she is an obsessed mother just like the one in her movie Helicopter Eela, she stated, “I’m not that much of a controlling parent. I actually don’t believe that it is conducive to a healthy relationship. And my mother was the complete opposite of it... I was a very differently brought up child, so no, I don’t believe in controlling at all.”

However, Kajol admitted to being “completely and totally and obviously” obsessed with her kids, Nysa and Yug. “There’s a fine line between giving children a grid to grow up with, and overwhelming them to the point that they can’t grow,” she told Kareena.

Besides, she also said that Ajay is a protective father and a cosseting parent. “If he had his way, he would be the overwhelming presence who would kind of completely like, ‘What are you doing?’, ‘Five minutes here, five minutes there’ and all that,” she said.

She also adds that his calm and composed image is a “complete lie” and said, “There is no chill and no cool where his kids are concerned. He wants to know everything about everything.”

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Ajay and Kajol will be seen reuniting on screen after a decade in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, scheduled to release on January 10, 2020.
