Kajal Aggarwal shares Gautam Kitchlu’s heartfelt marriage proposal: He’s not the filmy sort

After months of speculation, actress Kajal Aggarwal had announced her wedding with longtime boyfriend Gautam Kitchlu. The duo dated for about three years, and then were friends for seven years. 

While Kajal and Gautam got engaged in June, the pictures were shared only after the marriage announcement. 

On October 30, Kajal Aggarwal tied the knot to businessman Gautam Kitchlu in an intimate wedding ceremony in presence of family members and friends at the plush Taj Hotel in Mumbai. In a recent interview with Vogue, the actress shares why she decided to get married amid the pandemic.

She shared, “We were used to meeting all the time. Whether it was a social party or an important professional endeavour, the other one would always show up. So, amidst the lockdown, when we didn’t see each other for a few weeks—at best, we would catch a glimpse behind a mask at a grocery store—we realised that we wanted to be together.”

Kajal also shares how Gautam proposed to her for marriage and it was not the kind you were expecting. Giving the cliche down-on-knees proposal a toss, Gautam rather poured his heart out in front of his lady love and asked her to spend a lifetime together.

She shared, “Gautam is understated when it comes to romance. He’s not the filmy sort, and I am grateful for it because I have enough of that in my films. So, it wasn’t a proposal with all of the jazz, but it was an extremely heartfelt, emotional conversation between us. He was so authentic about his feelings and the way he expressed how he wanted to have a future with me; I couldn’t be surer about spending my life with him!”
