Kabir Bedi on his son’s suicide, bankruptcy: “Went through traumatic experiences”

Actor Kabir Bedi recently released his autobiography—‘Stories I Must Tell: The Emotional Life of an Actor’. In his memoir, he has opened up about the highs and lows of his life, his relationships including marriage and divorce and more.

Now in a recent interview, Kabir Bedi opened up about his son Siddharth Bedi's death by suicide and also about his bankruptcy. While speaking to Brut India in a video, the veteran star said:

"I went through traumatic experiences with my son’s suicide, with my bankruptcy in Hollywood. It’s very humiliating for a celebrity to be bankrupted. But you have to find ways of rising and resurrecting yourself. All through my life, I’ve reinvented myself."

Previously, Kabir had talked about his son Siddharth Bedi’s suicide and his battle with schizophrenia.He had shared that the family struggled to figure out what was wrong with their son and it took them three years to come face to face with his schizophrenia diagnosis. He had also recalled how Siddharth had a violent breakdown on Montreal streets and was controlled by as many as eight policemen.

Speaking of Kabir Bedi’s Hollywood career, he appeared in superhit show The Bold and the Beautiful, and also appeared in Dynasty, Murder, She Wrote, Magnum, PI, Hunter, Knight Rider and Highlander: The Series.

The actor added how his spirituality gave him the strength to overcome life's difficulties. He continued:

“All through my life, I've reinvented myself. A lot of the meditation I learned in my you, a lot of the spiritual underpinnings my parents gave me through their remarkable traditions of Sikhism and Buddhism, and my own inner sense of self gave me the strength to say, 'no, I will fight back'."

In his book, Kabir has also spoken about his open marriage with Odissi dancer Protima Gupta and how he told him wife about his affair with late actress Parveen Babi.
