Jharkhand to honour 'Chak De Bachhe' winner

Ranchi, Aug 3 (IANS) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda Sunday congratulated winner of reality show 'Chak de Bachhe' Deepak Tirkey saying the kid has done the state proud.

Ranchi, Aug 3 (IANS) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda Sunday congratulated winner of reality show 'Chak de Bachhe' Deepak Tirkey saying the kid has done the state proud.

'We congratulate Deepak. He has made the people of Jharkhand feel proud. We will honour him when he will arrive in Ranchi,' Koda told reporters.

Deepak was representing small town boys in the singing and dancing competition of 9X channel.

The grand finale of 'Chak De Bachche' was aired Saturday night and was attended by Indian cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh.

Deepak and Nishtha Nag Chaudhury of the team of small towners 'Desi Dhuranders' were declared the winners after battling it out with Varun Sohal and Loria Doshi of 'Metro Rockers', the city kids, for 18 weeks.

While Deepak is from Ranchi, Nishtha belongs to Udaipur. Varun and Loria are from Ludhiana and Jaipur, respectively.

Dhoni was promoting the small towners and Yuvraj was promoting the city kids.

Jharkhand Sports Minister said: 'Deepak has made the state proud after Dhoni.' Dhoni also belongs to Jharkhand.
