On Friday morning, people in India felt relief when they got to know that all four men accused in the gang-rape and murder of a young veterinarian in Telangana were shot dead in the early hours. As per reports, Mohammed Arif (26), Jollu Shiva (20), Jollu Naveen (20) and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu (20) were in police detention and were taken back to the scene of the crime in the early hours of Friday and the suspects were shot when they tried to steal the officers' guns and escape.

The police claim they fired in self-defense after two of the men attacked them, snatched their weapons and fired.Prakash Reddy, a deputy commissioner of police in Hyderabad, said that the accused were killed in the crossfire. They tried to snatch weapons from the guards but were shot dead. While the country is giving thumbs up to the Telangana police and celebrating this, Jaya Bachchan who is an MP was asked about her reaction on hearing the news. The actress and politician said, "Der aaye, durust aaye."

Further when she was again asked she yelled saying, "Der aaye der aaye." Further, the actress was questioned about whether according to her was justice served to the young veterinarian who was brutally raped and killed and is this the way rapists must be handled in our country?

To this, she said that she would not like to comment anything on that.

Recently, before the encounter when the issue of the gang rape and murder was raised in Rajya Sabha, Jaya Bachchan roared saying that the accused in the case should be shamed in public and lynched. She further said that perhaps lynching is the only way to put an end to such crimes against women.

Expressing her anger Jaya said, “I think these people need to be shamed in front of the entire country. People who have not done their jobs properly. These kinds of people (the accused) should be brought out in public and lynched”.

This was the first time when everyone in the public supported Jaya Bachchan's statement on the accused men being brought out in public and lynched. After hearing this news of the encounter, the young veterinarian's father told news agency ANI that it has been 10 days to the day his daughter died. He wants to express his gratitude towards the police and the government for this. His daughter's soul must be at peace now.
