Janmashtami or Gokulashtami is a popular Hindu festival, which celebrates the birth of Hindu deity Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. He is the god of compassion, tenderness and love in Hinduism. He was born in Mathura but brought up in Vrindavan and so, Janmashtami is majorly celebrated in both the places on a huge scale.
