It has been a long time since nepotism has been a talk of the town and the topic just denies to die down anytime soon. But, even the star kids have to prove themselves on screen and it seems Sridevi’s elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor has instigated the change after being constantly pressured and she also said that she needs to prove her worth.

Soon Janhvi will be seen playing the titular role in her upcoming film - Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. She also said that female protagonists need to be normalized.

During an interaction with a leading magazine, Janhvi spoke about nepotism and being well aware of the facts that focus on the headstart offered to the star kids she claimed to understand their feeling of being cheated a little bit.

I can’t let it bog me down because I know there are people out there who would kill for this opportunity. I understand their feeling of being cheated a little bit. And it won’t go away until I prove myself worthy.

Janhvi also talked about playing a lead protagonist, she said, “My mom was never considered a conventional heroine. We wouldn’t call War a male-centric movie just because it has two male actors. We need to normalize female protagonists so that it isn’t a big deal anymore.”

The Dhadak girl has wrapped up the shoot for Gunjan Saxena back in December and she even shared a picture of her sitting in a helicopter. Janhvi will be portraying Saxena, who entered the war zone during the 1999 Kargil War. Directed by Sharan Sharma, it will hit the screens on March 13 next year.
