Jai Mummy Di Review: A Loud and Endless parade of Annoying competition!

This 103 minutes film is longer than usual and the never-ending drama seems to be just another episode of Big Boss...

Jai Mummy Di

Jai Mummy Di features the story of two lively mothers - Pinky (Poonam Dhillon) and Lalli (Supriya Pathak) who are trapped in a constant loop of conflict due to some misunderstandings from the past. Meanwhile, their children Punnet (Sunny Singh) and Saanjh (Sonnalli Seygall) are in love with each other and plan on getting hitched, would they be able to tie the knot?

The heavily stereotyped comedy-drama knocks into action with Pinky and Lalli crossing their paths at a wedding and that’s when you know it's going to be a disaster. Somehow, the rivalry gets on your nerves and these incomplete characters that have no idea whatsoever as seem to be a major problem for their own good.

The storyline is simple yet too complicated for the audience. The spineless lead characters lack the power to decide. The film could have ended at the start itself provided Punnet would have accepted Saanjh’s proposal. But, he doesn’t and you are bound to sit and tolerate the mindless drama of conflict and mothers who always try to reach each other's throat.

Right after Saanjh’s unreliable boyfriend declines her proposal, their mother tries to get them hitched to the first one-note matriarchs. Why just to be in the competition? How narrow-minded could their mothers be?

No sooner the film tries to grab a hold of your attention, you already have a song for every situational tragedy that the lead characters come across. Did the director even bother curating a script or it was just a random attempt to pick elements to place them as the progress towards completing this film?

For some reason, the film just lacks content and no matter how hard to try to understand the film, Gulati just keeps on surprising you with flaws! The same old Punjabi character set in the lavish areas of Delhi followed by loud and unnecessary rivalry, with a poor spacing of exposition that is filled with a loud and endless parade of songs leaves no hope for survival. And the rest of it is Pinky and Laali fall out.
