It's the Final Countdown -- Indian Idol 4

The stage has been set, Sash is waiting for its beholder, as all the spotlight is on the Top 3 finalists of Indian Idol-4. Whole of India and the world is gearing up and eagerly waiting for their next Singing Superstar! The three finalists are geared up to give performances of their lifetime, Sourabhee with her rocking stage-presence, Torsha with her attitude and style and not to forget our "Gabro-Jawaan" turned singer Kapil with his voice and charishma!

On the occasion, we quizzed our past superstars to take their opinion on the whole hype and hysteria surrounding Indian Idol, and whom they think has the potential and talent to be the Idol of Youth and singing!

Meiyang Chang:

Who do you think has higher chance of winning Indian Idol 4?
I personally feel its Kapil and Sourabhee who have higher chance of winning

Who are you rooting for?
I shouldn't say that, but personally it should be Sourabhee. This is the first time that we have got a complete package, as she is a good singer as well as performer too. There is pace in her voice and its refreshing. Along side she has an international appeal which credits her to win the title

Why do you think Indian Idol crown eluded women contestants till now?
Earlier there were some flaws in our voting system. The people who voted were women and kids who looked up to the guys, but this season the scenario has changed and even the girls have performed really well. All I can say is that in Indian Idol 4, girls are way getter.

One contestant you miss seeing in the Top 3?
I really miss Rajdeep as he is a good singer. It's heartbreaking but I know he will do something in future. At the end of the day, all I would like to say that we should learn from the past.

Do you think bringing up the point of a girl not winning Indian Idol time and again, will benefit Torsha and Sourabhee in the Finals or will go against them?
It has worked so far isn't it? Javed Saab pointed this thing in the last season. He also believed that it was a flaw and we vote from our hearts, not the mind. In this season the mindset has changed and we are seeing a neck to neck competition between boys and girls.

Who do you think has higher chance of winning Indian Idol 4?
I was supporting Rajdeep, but it is very sad that he is out. But amongst the Top 3, I think Sourabhee deserves to win.

Who are you rooting for?
I am not rooting for any one; I want the best person to win.

Why do you think Indian Idol crown has eluded women contestants till now?
Its only the vote that matters and I think people realize now after three seasons that a girl deserves to win Idol.

One contestant you miss seeing in the Top 3?
Of course Rajdeep, he was the most deserving one.

Do you think bringing up the point of a girl not winning Indian Idol time and again, will benefit Torsha and Sourabhee in the Finals or will go against them?
It will go against them. I think people will also get fed up of hearing the same thing again and again.

Who do you think has higher chance of winning Indian Idol 4?
May be Sourabhee or Torsha.

Who are you rooting for?
I like all the three as they are good singers. So can't choose!!

Its only vote that matters and girls vote bindaas for guys and this is why boys win always.

Rajdeep, he was very good and deserved to be in the finale.

It depends on the vote of the people.

Sourabhee and Kapil have equal chance of winning the crown, but Torsha has less chance.

Winning depends on voting and I think women are more sincere in voting, that is why every time it is a guy who wins.

Rajdeep, as he was the best.

Its not fine there is lot of gender discussion in this Indian Idol let it be the best person win.

Well, with the publicity being given to Sourabhee by all, it seems as though she has brighter chances of winning.

Who are you rooting for?
I am personally rooting for Kapil. He is such a humble person, and has improved so well that he deserves to win. Even last year, Amit Paul should have won, but regional votes helped Prashant. I hope this time we get a better result.

Why do you think Indian Idol crown has eluded women contestants till now?
Boys don't vote for girls as much as girls vote for boys..

Rajdeep for sure!!

Yes, I was also feeling the same. I just hope and pray that voting favors Kapil and he wins..

Who do you think has higher chance of winning Indian Idol 4?
I think Sourabhee will win as she has a great fan following.

Who are you rooting for?
I personally pray that Sourabhee wins. We have two girls in the Finale this time, and this is a great achievement. I am hoping that we get our first female Idol in Sourabhee.

Why do you think Indian Idol crown has eluded women contestants till now?
I feel people have never realized that a girl can win competitions. Indian society is so dominated by men that girls are pushed back for so many reasons. It is high time that a girl won Indian Idol. This is the best opportunity to turn the tables as we have for the first time, not one but two girls in the Finale. If either Sourabhee or Torsha do not win this time, we will never see a female as Idol in future...

One contestant you miss seeing in the Top 3?
Rajdeep. I expected him to be in the finale. Though I have been rooting for Sourabhee all along, I feel Rajdeep's presence in the Finale would have given a tougher challenge to the girl.

Yes, I was also thinking of the same thing. I just hope all the talk about a girl not becoming Idol does not backfire on Sourabhee and Torsha. Keeping fingers crossed...

Well, with the replies we have got, it is pretty evident that the very talented Rajdeep Chatterjee will be missed in the Finale.. This time, it looks like the two girls might give a stiff challenge to the lone male in the Finale of Indian Idol on March 1st, but then it is again the 'Janta Janardhan' who will have the final say in the result...
