Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh tied the knot in November last. However, even after almost six months, we are unable to get over the stunning pictures from their intimate wedding at Italy’s Lake Como. And why not? DeepVeer makes for a fabulous couple and the two certainly seem to be made for each other.
Interestingly, during a recent interaction with designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee for Business of Fashion along with Imran Amed, Deepika spilled the beans about her much-loved trousseau and revealed how she always wanted to be a Sabya bride. "When you get married, it's a new chapter in your life. With Indian culture it's not just two people coming together, it's the families coming together. Our families are our core. It's important for us that our families are on the same page as well. I moved away very early from home, so the need for me to have a family was very important,” she said.
Disclosing how Sabyasachi was one of the first few people who know about her wedding with Ranveer, Deepika mentioned, "The first person who even knew I was getting married was Sabya. It was about being a Sabya bride, but also about celebrating the parts of India where Ranveer and I came from. I orchestrated the whole wedding. Ranveer was quite busy and there was just so much to be done. Once we had most of the organisation under control, we made a public announcement."
Not just the actress, Sabyasachi too heaped praises on Deepika and said she knew who she was getting married to and why she was getting married. “She knew the colour of her outfit, she knew the jewellery that she wanted to wear, her flowers. She even knew the idly and the South Indian coffee that was going to be served to the guests when they woke up every morning. They flew down all the caterers from South India,” the ace designer quipped.
For the event, Deepika was seen in a beautiful lime yellow Sabyasachi saree.
