After a lot of speculation surrounding the new lead of Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishnodevi, things have finally been sealed and confirmed as actor Paridhi Sharma, who we best know for Jodha Akbar and Patiala Babes is the one that will be playing the lead role of Maa Vaishnodevi.
Recently, we reported about how actor Puja Banerjee decided to quit the show citing personal reasons and there was an array of names being considered to take up the role like Rubina Dilaik among others.
However, it is now confirmed that Sharma will be playing the character as soon as shoot resumes.
In an exclusive interview with us, Sharma opened up on the same. She said, "Yes. I am finalized to play the role and we are planning to start shooting in a day or two. When will the new episodes be telecast is something we still don't know. But it won't be more than a couple of days before we start shooting for it."
When asked about how does she feel about replacing Banerjee, she said, "I am looking at the show as a fresh start altogether. Puja stated in her interviews very clearly that she is quitting the show because of personal reasons, so there is nothing negative about the saga."
Having done a historical and drama fiction show earlier and taking into account how mythological shows are huge in India, we asked if it was a conscious decision to take this role up, to which she said, "Yes. I can say it was a conscious decision as I have always been interested in
mythological and historical shows. I really wanted to play this character of Maa Vaishnodevi. It is a great opportunity that I have received and I am extremely thankful for it. Maa Vaishnodevi has millions of devotees and having the chance to play the role is something I cherish."
We wish the actor all the best for the role.
