Deepika Padukone is high on promotions for her upcoming film, Chhapaak. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal and is set to release in just a week. 

The trailer of Chhapaak has already set a benchmark as the powerful story packed with impeccable performances by Deepika and Vikrant Massey has impressed the audience, making them eagerly wait for the release of the film. 

Besides the strong trailer, the film also consists of soulful music and the film’s leading lady Deepika along with the co-star Vikrant, director Meghna, and Laxmi Agarwal attended the music launch event held in Mumbai today.

During the media interactions, Deepika was asked whether her husband Ranveer Singh has invested in the film as DP is also co-producing the film. To this, the actress had a clear crystal answer stating that it was her money which she invested in Chhapaak

Besides Chhapaak, Deepika will also be co-producing her upcoming movie ’83 with Kabir Khan, Madhu Mantena Varma and Sajid Nadiadwala. Starring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Def, ‘83 is a biopic of the veteran cricketer and stars an ensemble cast of Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Amrita Puri, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, and Sahil Khattar.

Speaking of Chhapaak, the film is slated to hit the screens on January 10, 2020, and will be clashing with Om Raut’s period drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior starring Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, Jagapathi Babu and Sharad Kelkar in the lead roles.
