Ishqbaaaz and Iss Pyaar ko…have been one of our biggest milestones to cherish: Gul Khan

Creator, Producer, Writer, Director, Gul Khan gets nostalgic as two of her biggest hits on Indian television clock 5 years and 10 years, respectively.

Two of the biggest shows of Indian television, Ishqbaaaz, and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Do recently clocked 5 years and 10 years in the showbiz space. The producer of the show, Gul Khan got nostalgic remembering and cherishing those times and says there is still a huge audience who watches both these shows on repeat mode.

“There is no doubt that Ishqbaaaz and Iss Pyaar ko.. have been our biggest milestones in the TV space. These 2 shows did not just create a space in the audience’s hearts but also created benchmarks in our Industry. With Ishqbaaaz turning 5 on 27th June and IPKKND turning a decade old on 6th June, I can certainly say that June month has been very favourable for us”, she laughs.

Talking about a massive fan following that these two shows created, Gul Khan says, “After a point of time we realized that the audience is so connected to these shows, that a lot affects them with respect to any changes we do to our shows. We tried our best to keep the level promising and up each time we delivered an episode to the channel. It is like watching Salman Khan or Rajnikant films, the audience comes with a pre-set mind and as makers, we need to give them the best. There is still a huge section of the audience that watches both these shows on repeat mode and as makers, there cannot be more joy than to know this”.

Talking about her actors in both shows, Gul says that even after a decade, she is still on great terms with the faces of the shows. “They are a part of my family now and are always there for me. It has been a pleasure working with each of them and I can definitely say that both the shows would have been incomplete without the amazing cast and the never-giving-up spirit of the crew members. Both Ishqbaaaz and Iss Pyaar have created a space that is irreplaceable”, she sums up.

Well, both shows are truly a celebration, and one would agree with Gul!

IPKKND was something else on TV at that time. The chemistry of Barun and Sanaya onscreen and the storyline was amazing for a long time. Clearly after this show other seems to copy the pattern of the show's concept. But even Gul tries to recreate the buzz. We have seen enough of angry man falling in love with a simple middleclass girl. It's high time to see different storyline from all the producers and channels.

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon was a phenomenal story on itv, no doubt! wouldn't say it created a benchmark but it did lead to a lot of productions and channels copying a similar dynamic without understanding it's narrative. Absolutely loved Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani for all that they did being the face of the show!!

All the actors were great until now no show can match ipkknd Sanaya Irani was and is great.
But I laughed a lot at gul words " she is still on great terms with the faces of the shows. “ They are a part of my family now and are always there for me." maybe because old things and old words are hard to forget 😌

Barun and Sanaya created magic with their chemistry even with rubbish storyline and poor execution of Gul Khan. Their chemistry was so unmatched that even today people are reading and writing fictions on these characters.
Love both Sanaya and Barun for their flawless performance and sizzling hot chemistry.😍
