While sports biopics and dramas have tanked in theatres of late, fans still wish to see movies made on their favourites. There are innumerable demands for the biopic of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who are still very much active in Indian cricket. Former cricketer and commentator Harbhajan Singh was seen in Mumbai. A reporter from Instant Bollywood asked him if his biopic would come soon. The player said yes something was definitely on the way. It seems the cricketer is keen to get into film production or something. He was with a friend who seems deep into showbiz.
Here is a look at the video of Harbhajan Singh
https://www.instagram.com/p/DC_qbOEShJN/?hl=enWhen he was asked about which actor would he like to see as Harbhajan Singh on the big screen, he took the name of Vicky Kaushal. Well, he is also a Punjabi like the player. Even their physicality kind of matches. Moreover, when it comes to biopics, Vicky Kaushal is the numero uno star. From Sam Manekshaw in Sam Bahadur to Sardar Udham he has aced all roles. In his next Chhaava, he will be seen as Chhatrapathi Sambhaji Maharaj. We wonder how Vicky’s fans will react to him doing a sports biopic.
He has one of the most enviable slate of films in the current crop of actors. From Chhaava that is ready to release to Love And War with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Netizens went berserk seeing him as Mahavatar Parashuram in Amar Kaushik’s movie for Maddock Films. Then, he is discussing a movie with Rajkumar Hirani as well. Ranbir Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana were in talks for the Sourav Ganguly biopic but the film did not materialize. In 2024, we saw how Maidaan, a big budget sports drama tanked despite a fabulous story, performances and canvas. Its failure shocked critics and everyone who saw it on OTT. The big question is do we need such genres which are underperforming right now in Bollywood?
