Irrfan Khan’s Heartfelt Message about ‘Unwanted Guests’ in his Body will Move you to Tears

Irrfan Khan is making a comeback to the movies with the film Angrezi Medium, also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan in the leading role. The film is a spin-off of the 2017 comedy Hindi Medium that starred Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Radhika Madan in lead roles.

The first look of Angrezi Medium dropped today, and ahead of the trailer release, Irrfan Khan penned a heartfelt message that is sure to move you to tears. The actor had shot for the film immediately after undergoing treatment for cancer. He was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour and left for his treatment in London in March 2018.

The video starts with Irrfan’s voiceover that says, “Hello, brothers and sisters. I am with you and not with you. This film, Angrezi Medium, is very special to me. I truly wanted to promote this film as passionately as we made it, but there are some ‘unwanted guests’ in my body and they’re keeping me busy. I’ll keep you informed on that front.”

Irrfan continues, “There’s a saying, ‘when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.’ It feels good to hear, but when life really hands you lemons, making lemons is really difficult. One doesn’t have any other choice but to remain positive. Whether you are able to make lemonade in such situations is entirely up to you. We’ve made this film with the same sort of positivity. I hope this film is able to make you laugh and cry in equal measure.”

He concludes by saying, “Enjoy the trailer, and be kind to each other, and enjoy the film. And yes, wait for me.”

Speaking of Angrezi Medium, the film is directed by Homi Adajania and produced under the production banner Maddock Films, and is slated to release on  20 March 2020.
