Megxit

The Royal family has been one of the favorite celebrities across the world. From Princess Diana to Megxit, they have always been the talk of the town. Recently, Princess Diana's youngest child, Prince Harry and his wife, Megan Markle decided to part ways from the royal family and will be giving up their trademark of the Sussex Royals.

If if you follow the Royal family, here are a few shows that you will absolutely love.

The Windsors

THE WINDSORS

The Windsors is a British sitcom and parody of the British royal family, the House of Windsor. The show puts the British Royal Family as a soap opera of what their lives and romances might just be like. The series has been criticized for storylines such as Kate Middleton catching Ebola and Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice getting radicalized. "The Windsors was rude, crude – and a real blast of punk comedy", said The Daily Telegraph after the first episode. The ridicules of the royals were spot on, taking their quirks and stretching them into comic gold.

Monarchy: The Royal Family at Work

MONARCHY: THE ROYAL FAMILY AT WORK

The Royal Family at Work provides an exceptional insight into the work of The Queen and other members of the Royal Family over the course of a year. Besides the purpose of the Sovereign as British head of state and head of the Commonwealth, the series also deals with the potential heirs and other royals, as well as staff and accredited press, relevant politicians, royal estates and court staff. It is not about either praising her or discrediting her, but it is just showing you what happens in the many days in the life of the Queen.

The Lost Prince

THE LOST PRINCE

The Lost Prince is a beautiful costume drama from Stephen Poliakoff, about the young brother of Prince George, who nobody wanted to talk about. This story is told through his eyes, and describes in beautiful detail the transition of Europe from a continent ruled by related monarchs, until the end of this system during and after WWI. As this is seen through the eyes of the little boy, there is very little value judgment as to whether this system was a right or just one, and at the end, you are stuck with the horror of the murder of the Tsarist family and their beautiful daughters, but we never see the reign of terror they and their secret police visited upon Russia.

The Royals

THE ROYALS

A drama about a fictional British Royal family set in modern-day London, who inhabit a world of opulence and regal tradition that caters to any and every desire, but one that also comes with a price tag of duty, destiny, and intense public scrutiny. The show thrives on the conflict between family, royalty, responsibility and the vagaries of youth and mischievousness. This does not represent the real Royal Family in any way but it is still fun to watch. It shows the humour perfectly regarding the plot.

The Crown

THE CROWN

The Crown is a historical drama web series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The series covers Elizabeth's life from her younger years to her reign in the 21st century and follows the political rivalries and romance of Queen Elizabeth II's reign and the events that shaped the second half of the twentieth century. The British Empire is in decline, the political world is in disarray, and a young woman takes the throne. Peter Morgan's masterfully researched scripts revealed the Queen's private journey behind the public façade with daring frankness. The show shows the coveted world of power and privilege.

Downtown Abbey

DOWNTOWN ABBEY

Once you start watching this show, you'll be captivated immediately and hours will go by before you realize you've spent an entire afternoon in front of your television set. The relationships built between all characters of this show are what tie it up well and keep it interesting. The show is brilliantly written and set in lavish, vibrant surroundings with elaborate costuming, this series sets the bar for others.

''Downtown Abbey is the kind of "Masterpiece Theatre" material that the British do with such finesse that one can only sit back and wonder at the sets, costumes, music, and above all, the performances that are all on an exceptionally high level," said a viewer. This show is beautifully filmed, with authenticity and societal values implicit in both script and acting. The story constructs in and out of two layers of society, the masters and the servants, giving us glimpses into the power struggles occurring on each level.
