Inside Geeta Basra’s virtual baby shower: "My girl gang, Bhajji arranged everything, I had absolutely no clue"

Actress Geeta Basra was taken by surprise and thanked her friends who organised a virtual baby shower for her. She has also shared a few photos in which she is also seen striking a pose with husband-cricketer Harbhajan Singh.

The adorable family was seen striking a pose while thanking her friends for making her feel special and cheering her up. She revealed that her husband Harbhajan Singh was their ‘accomplice’ and helped them set the whole thing up.

The cake, which had ‘Geeta’s baby shower’ written on it - featuring Harbhajan and Geeta lying in bed with Hinaya and their second (yet-to-be-born) child. Guests, meanwhile, attended virtually, amid the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Geeta shared the pictures as she wrote, “My girls are the best! What a beautiful and sweetest virtual baby shower surprise! Don’t know what I would do without you all but you all made me feel so special and cheered me up.. during such times it’s when you miss each other the most of not being able to celebrate such moments together and so many special celebrations missed out on.. but you girls really out did yourselves! All sitting across different parts of the world thank God for digital platforms that keep us connected! Thank you my loves and I’m so blessed to have you in my life! and hubby @harbhajan3 well done on being such a good accomplice!”

Recently, Geeta uploaded images of a virtual baby shower that was planned by her sisters and friends and the surprise left her smiling and overjoyed. Interestingly, her hubby dearest Harbhajan Singh helped her friends and sisters to execute this event. A source close to the couple said that while a proper baby shower would’ve been ideal, the current situation deems it impossible, 

“Since they couldn’t host a baby shower, her girl gang wanted to make it special for Geeta in some way which would be memorable for her. They meticulously planned everything with Harbhajan to the last detail and joined the couple via video call and celebrate with them.”

The source added, 

"Harbhajan made sure that the balloons, cake and all the decoration comes on time and told Geeta that they a media interaction over a zoom call, but when they joined she saw her friends and family from across the globe in the frame and got a sweet surprise." 

Commenting on the same, Geeta says ""It was a lovely surprise and one that didn’t anticipate at all. My girl gang and Bhajji arranged everything and I had absolutely no clue. We chatted for hours that day and it was such a break from the monotony of being home. It was a different experience, a baby shower over video call but I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t ask for more than being surrounded by friends and family, albeit virtually” she smiles.
