Indian Panorama of IFFI 2007 to have 21 feature films

New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS) Twenty-one feature films and 15 non-feature films were Tuesday chosen to be screened at the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2007, which would be held in Goa in November.

New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS) Twenty-one feature films and 15 non-feature films were Tuesday chosen to be screened at the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2007, which would be held in Goa in November.

The juries recommended that director Shyamaprasad's Malayalam film 'Ore Kadal', starring Mammootty, open the feature film section, while the non-feature segment will be kicked off with the screening of Bengali film 'Bagher Bacha', directed by Bishnu Dev Halder.

It was also decided that Lenin Rajendran's 'Ratri Mazha' (Malayalam) and Samir Chanda's 'Ek Nadir Galpo' (Bengali) would represent India at the Asian African and Latin American Competition of IFFI.

The two juries were headed by renowned filmmakers K.S. Sethumadhavan and Arun Khopkar respectively.

The feature films to be screened in the section include 'Naalu Pennungal' (Malayalam) by Adoor Gopalakrishnan, 'Dharm' (Hindi) by Bhavna Talwar, Sanjib Sabhapandit's 'Jaatingaa Ityaadi' (Assamese) and Gajendra Ahire's 'Mai Baap' (Marathi).

English film 'Hope Dies Last In War' by Supriyo Sen, 'Ngaihak Lambida Haobam' by Manipuri filmmaker Paban Kumar, and Ashok Rane's Hindi film 'Masti Bhara Hai Sama' are part of the non-feature film bouquet at the Indian Panorama section.
