Urmila Martondkar is making her appearance once again in Bollywood with Abhinay Deo's "Blackmail" starring Irrfan Khan in the lead role. The actress will be seen in a special song/item number 'Bewafa Beauty'.

From her charming smile to her beautiful looks and unbelievable acting skills Urmila Matondkar has shown her prowess in acting with each film. She is making her appearance once again in Bollywood with Abhinay Deo's "Blackmail" starring Irrfan Khan in the lead role. The actress will be seen in a special song/item number 'Bewafa Beauty'. Talking about the same in an interview with us, the actress spoke about her come back in Bollywood after 10 years, the item number and more...

How do you feel after making a comeback in Bollywood?

You know, until I was asked this question I didn't think that I was away for so long. No actor really thinks about all these things but, to answer to your question nevertheless it's been smashing because when I heard the song I was completely excited as I have never heard a thought like this in the Indian lyrical side of cinema. I thought it is very exciting and different to do something and I have always believed in something doing that one hasn't done before. So, having done so many kinds of songs already...Abhinay (Deo) the director was very clear. He didn't want just another dancing number but, he wanted me to play with the expressions which used to be in the old time of cinema where you, not just dance but, also try to convey each word and that is what got me hooked to the entire song. I am glad I did it because when you do it without much of a publicity and it gets 3 million views just in 24 hours is a very beautiful thing.

You have lately become socially active, how has your experience been?

I think I am the only actor who has come on Instagram so late in life because I am extremely technically challenged and I always used to feel what will I do. But, honestly, I will never ever let go a chance to thank all my fans for my journey. If it was not for them I wouldn't have been able to make it anyway. As coming from a non-filmy space you cannot imagine the kind of background to have such a tremendous journey. It wouldn't have been possible if it was not for something constant support form my fans. So, that is why the whole social media thing has happened for me. It's not like my life is revolving around it but, it's really great to share some of the moments with them because of who you are and what you are in the first place.

Now that you have come back in Bollywood are there any projects that you are seeing?

First of all, I am not trying to make any come back. There is no comeback and go back. I have never understood the concept of this and most actors don't trust me. But anyway, the song came to me I thought it was fun and exciting. I think I am the best one when I am dancing. I am open to the projects but, I am not like who wants to make a comeback for anything like that. I really don't plan my life so much. I take it as it comes and does it to my best of abilities.

What kind of response have you received for the song?

Superb!!! I mean I was just telling someone that today when people think of heavy duty choreography it comes 'Chamma Chamma' a song that really communicates dance and culture so, I'll be really happy if tomorrow people will talk about the expressions and the performance... that is what I hope. And I feel we got pretty much the same kind of response even right now. I have done some glossy and big scale dance numbers before and this one is like a dingy bar song. Everything is more massy and sultry. It is not something that I have done in the past. I am glad it has hit the Bull's eye.

The song has also been receiving some flack from the audiences...

First of all the full song haven't been published yet and there are some excerpts from the movie that has been included in the song right now. There's a lot that is happening. Since the whole song isn't out the fans are getting impatient. I have been associated with the big scale and glossy numbers and this is something really different than those ones. So maybe due to that, they must be thinking that why am I not dancing to the song or there is no lavish set like they show in the movies. God knows, where these kinds of lavish clubs exist but, the song cannot be different from the film it's around the black comedy and the grittiness that the film has been made.

Do you miss acting?

Yes, and No I mean there are a lot of other things that I haven't don't in so many years. I don't really sit and miss it but, I think yes it is great to be front of the camera.

What did you keep yourself occupied in?

There are so many things that I love doing. I believe in giving my best in whatever I do. There's a lot of travelling and reading that I did. I indulged my time by doing a course in yoga, I learnt scuba diving and a bit of Spanish. Now the next thing is to try to play the guitar. There's a lot that life has to offer about which we just don't know about.
