I shot non-stop for 12 to 13 hours: Farnaz Shetty on a dance sequence for 'Kashibai Bajirao Ballal'

Following the phenomenal success of Jodha Akbar and Jhansi ki Rani, Zee TV launched its biggest historical magnum opus – Kashibai Bajirao Ballal - that brought to us the forgotten story of Kashibai. Presenting the tale of one of the most legendary women of the Maratha empire, the show started off with a bang. However, it was the recent 7-year leap that got everyone excited, especially with Riya Sharma (Kashibai) and Rohit Chandel (Bajirao) joining the show. Farnaz Shetty’s (Mastani) unexpected entry also added some more drama into the lives of Kashibai and Bajirao, keeping the audience hooked to find out what will transpire next! While several twists await the audience, viewers are in for a special treat as a new song is all set to be presented on Kashibai Bajirao Ballal and Mastani will leave us spellbound with her energetic performance.

In the upcoming episodes of the show, Mastani, who has been in love with Bajirao since her teenage days, will try everything possible to make Bajirao fall in love with her. In fact, when Bajirao is all set to leave for his home after yet another victory, Mastani will be seen putting on her ghungroos and dancing her heart out on an enchanting song to stop him from returning back. The mesmerizing dance will not only leave him captivated but will keep you hooked too! The dance sequence will make you reminisce the popular Mastani song, and while Farnaz believes that Deepika is one of the enigmatic and gracious actors in Bollywood, she consciously took a decision not to be influenced by her for this track. She wanted to make it a dazzling experience for one and all, and hence, she took up the challenge of preparing some unique and extraordinary steps for it. It was definitely a challenging task for her, especially learning all the steps in a short period of time and executing them flawlessly on screen, but she did it!

As Farnaz Shetty mentions, “I feel grateful to be a part of a grand historical show like Kashibai Bajirao Ballal. I must mention that playing Mastani was like a dream come true for me as this is a multi-dimensional character. She is graceful, yet fierce as a warrior. However, the upcoming dance sequence will showcase a new side of Mastani as she displays her magnificent dancing skills. In a bid to stop her beloved Baji from leaving, she dances her heart out and I have to say, the experience was epic! The choreography was truly fantastic and even though we were running short on time, I gave it my all. To be honest, I didn’t get a chance to prepare myself, but knowing the basic nuances of classical dance helped me execute this performance effortlessly.”

She further added, “I shot the song non-stop for almost 12 to 13 hours to get everything right and while it was challenging for me, I believe all the hard work was worth it. I hope the audience appreciates my performance as well as the whole sequence and keeps showering us with their love and appreciation.”

While we are sure everyone will be mesmerized by Mastani’s dance performance, you will be surprised to know that after being impressed by her act, Baji will travel to Bundelkhand and present his sword to Mastani. This will surely leave everyone stunned, including Mastani, as according to Rajput traditions, Baji will have married her by giving her his sword. It will be interesting to see what happens when Kashibai will find out about this!
