The investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has not been any less of a turbulent ride for the Mumbai Police so far. While a month has already passed since Sushant’s sad demise, fans and several close friends including a few politicians have been demanding a CBI inquiry into the case.
Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty recently joined the band as she took to her Instagram handle on July 16, 2020 and urged for a CBI inquiry. She asked the Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah for the same.
Now, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has reacted to the demand for CBI inquiry and also mentioned that there is no need for CBI’s intervention. During a recent interaction with Mid-Day, the Maharashtra Home Minister explained that Mumbai Police do not suspect any foul play in relation to Sushant’s suicide so far. He also added that Mumbai Police is competent enough to handle such cases.
I have the tweets and the campaign. But I don’t think that a CBI probe is required. The Mumbai Police is competent enough to handle such cases and they are investigating every aspect of the case including professional rivalry. As of now, we do not see any foul play. Details of the investigation will be shared once it is completed.

Apart from Rhea Chakraborty, The former Cabinet Minister - Subramanian Swamy, Shekhar Suman and BJP MP Roopa Ganguly have been demanding a CBI inquiry in the matter of Sushant Singh Rajput's demise.
While Shekhar Suman states that gangism could be involved in the untimely demise, Roopa Ganguly has constantly claimed that Sushant's social media account is tampered with. Subramanian Swamy also wrote a letter to the Mumbai Police commissioner through his advocate and requested that the commissioner should send all electronic evidence for forensic examination.
