I don't care about 100 crores!: Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor has previously worked with Vishal Bharadwaj in 2009 film Kaminey and 2014 film Haider. With 'Rangoon' it will be the third time he will be working with the acclaimed director. However, none of the films they did together have crossed the 100 crore mark with regards to it's Box Office collections.

During the recent media interaction held for the promotion of 'Rangoon' he was asked if he thinks that it's a high time that the actor-director should cross the 100 crore barrier. To that, Shahid quickly replied, "I don't care about it. It will come when it will come. What's the point in running after something that I don't know how to achieve it. You can run after the craft. You cannot run after numbers. Every film that is performing on the Box Office in the last two years has performed completely different from what the expectation was. You see the direction in which the content is headed today. There are no rules."

While explaining the same he added, " When you do a film, you read script, right? One thing is you read the script and you say okay, this is story that should be told, I really like and the other is how much money it will make?  Can you answer that question today? Nobody can answer that question so why would ask myself a question which nobody can answer? The first question is a relevant question and the second question can be answered when the film releases. The only question I can ask myself is this a film that I would want to see? Is this a film that I feel should get made, is this a film a I'm going to give one year of my life to? So I stick to the first question!"
